Why 'the 80s reboot'

See, I love 80s music and for me the iconic music of the 80s isn’t about being nostalgic, I genuine feel that this decade had something, what the French would call, extraordinaire, about it. All the new technology blended with bold and great pop songwriting without shame. It’s as the 80s redefined modern pop music, how it was recorded, produced how it was brought to market.

I often think about why these songs feels better written, and come to think of what you could call ‘hook writing’, unforgettable hooks that instantly grabbed attention, then add brilliant songwriting… verses, strong bridges, sing-a-long choruses.

See, I’m a songwriter at heart, before all the rest, and for some reason it is the 80s that resonates with me, is my gut-feeling, the vibe I got in me. I like drama in songwriting, un-expected key-changes, always have done. After all these years I certainly haven’t felt any need to change. In my studio, on my wall above my mixer and computer in the middle of hardware and synths I have a handful album covers, vinyls looking down at me constantly, as if they are there to restrain me from drifting off, there to help me stay firmly on track with my brand of the 80s sound, 2026 styled. I call it ‘the 80s reboot’… all brand new songs, released at fast past pace, assembled into compilations.. maybe my very own little nod to… Now! thats what I call Music…
